My role as Visual Merchandiser at M&S has enabled me to gain practical skills when it comes to the more physical, shop floor side of VM. The job consists of making sure mannequins and grids are as close to guideline as possible, whilst making it practical for the customer. The customer shopping experience is at the forefront of our minds when the team and I are putting these guidelines into place. As a Lingerie and Womenswear VM, I take pride in making sure the mannequins in these areas are up to date, including changing sell outs, and all POS displays the correct pricing and season. I communicate with colleagues and managers across the store to enable standards and policy are correct and deadlines are met.
